Field Trip

Yesterday we took our annual field trip up to Mound City to visit the Squaw Creek Wildlife Reserve.  It was a great day for a trip.  The weather cooperated and we had a wonderful time.

We always see something different when we go to the reserve.  Yesterday, we saw our first pelican, walked the eagle outlook trail, saw tons of huge frogs, and more muskrat mounds than we've seen in a long time.  There were plenty of ducks, migrating birds, a few geese (though we missed the concentration of geese which can number around 300,000), a blue heron, a pelican, lots of deer, and beautiful scenery.

This is rather large buck, but his antler rack is hidden behind the branches!
