Expectant Prayers ®

Getting Closer!

I just got back from my weekly doctor visit!  Everything is right on track for delivery.  I am getting excited... the end is near!    I didn't gain anything this week, which really surprised me.  I have been swollen and I thought for sure that the water retention would be reflected in my weight... it wasn't.   WOW!  I will say that it's cooler today and my hands were barely swollen at all this morning.  Where I notice it the most is in my feet and ankles; even they are looking better today.  I guess fighting back with drinking plenty of fluid, plus watching the salt and exercise can have a positive affect on things!   Yeah, and it's not so blooming hot out either!

Pete is returning to work this evening,  I still don't like the fact that he's going back   I've been having to pray through my own feelings on the matter.  I guess sending him back reminds me of the night I got the dreaded phone call.   I worry that he wouldn't be able to handle suspects if he had to.. that kind of thing, plus now his overall safety.  I also think about going into labor and him not being here or having it be the wrong time of day and him not being able to adjust his schedule.    I'm trying to place it all in the Lord's hands and not burden myself unnecessarily.   One big silver lining... I have been through plenty of deliveries before!

      Prayer Requests:

A fellow police officer's wife delivered a baby boy yesterday (8/16) almost 2 months early.  I have not heard any word on his condition today, but I am sure he was only about 32 weeks along.  The mother had low amniotic fluid (which always worries me due to lung development).   He only weighs a little over 3 pounds.  As you can imagine, the family can use all the prayer they can get as he is treated in the NICU!

Several expectant mothers we are praying for are experiencing financial crisis right now.  Money can be a problem for anyone, but can be especially stressful when you are having a baby.  Please pray today for God to touch the finances of His people (expecting or not).   The stock market scare also has people on edge concerning the economy.  We need God's assuring peace in our hearts that He will provide.  This has been a long time "prophecy" that money crises would come to the US.  We do not need to be fearful, but trusting in God and dependent upon HIM!

Continue to pray for the miners!  This morning when praying, I was reminded again that no matter where we are, God is present.  If we go to the heights of space, He is there.  If we travel to the depths of the sea, He is there.  If we are covered by an entire mountain, He is there!   Let's pray that something significant toward finding the miners would happen today.  Of course, additional miners were injured during rescue efforts last night during seismic activity.  They need our prayers, too, as well as the families and all those effected by this event.

THANKS FOR JOINING IN PRAYER AND HAVE A BLESSED DAY!
