God is Our Source

"Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the LORD our God."  Psalm 20:7

This verse is one of my favorites in the Bible.  I have quite a few favorites, but this one really speaks to me today... "we TRUST in the name of the LORD our God!"  As I awoke early this morning, the Colorado Stream picture came to mind and I kept hearing in my spirit... "I AM YOUR SOURCE."   Isn't God just like the streams of living waters?  We may not see the beginning of the stream, but we trust it is there... somewhere.  Why?  Because we see the evidences of the flowing water.  I believe God is wanting to flow down into our neighborhoods today; our streets, our houses, the rocky places, and into the depths of our hearts!  Not with a trickle, but with a mighty rushing, cleansing flow!

One of my most favorite topics to hear my Pastor preach on is "God is our Source".  I've heard a few of his messages concerning this topic and I get so blessed in my spirit each time I hear it.   How often we forget that all good things come down from the Father?   He is the Creator of ALL things and will supply our every need?  It is not our job to come up with the resources.   His stock of supply is always ample for whatever the situation requires.  And when we receive what we have need of, you'd better believe that God was the origin of that fulfilled request.

I don't know why people would put their TRUST in things like materialism (cars, houses, bank accounts), jobs, status, education, etc... when GOD is our confidence and hope.  Anyone who trusts in Him will never be put to shame.   We even have "In God We Trust" printed on our money as a reminder that we are not to trust in our currency, but rather in Him.

1 Timothy 4:10 tells us, "This is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance (and for this we labor and strive), that we have put our hope in the living God, who is the Savior of all men, and especially of those who believe."

It's good to believe, but so many people are believing in the wrong things.  I am chuckling to myself because there is a very popular Christmas movie on right now where the little boy at the end says "I believe".  The whole movie leads us to that conclusion (that he finally believes) and sadly his "belief" is unfounded.  Don't waste your time believing on things that don't amount to anything in the scope of eternity.  Again, GOD is our source.

I know many of my friends out there are in dire need of answers from the Lord.  Some of you have medical bills and more to come,  my friends in Brazil need finances to pay for the land they acquired for use in God's kingdom, some of you have emotional or relational needs, and still others need the intervention of the Lord in hopeless situations.   God is there and He is ready to supply your need.

Let it sink into your spirit today... God is your source.  Imagine that you are at the bottom of the Colorado Stream and the waters coming down are the answers from heaven!  That's what God is wanting us to accept today!  Stay in line with His will and His Word and trust Him that He will throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room for it!
