We went from heavy snow on Friday night to seventy degrees on Sunday. It felt more Easter-like yesterday than it did the previous week.
Who can make heads or tails of this weather??? Of course, our thoughts and prayers are with those on the east coast who have been struck hard with this "nor'easter"! Some of the southern states had tornadoes and such as well. As they said on the news, this weather system is one for the record books.
Today, we are going to attempt to go outside and get some yard work done. Things need to be trimmed back that were killed in the frost. As my oldest son and I were setting yard waste out for the city this morning, we noticed that even the leaves on the trees look dead. Titus looked at the maple tree and commented that even the little helicopters showed no signs of life.
Our Pastor briefly commented about God's pruning process yesterday during his message. I got to thinking about that as I looked around the yard and noticed the damage to the foliage. Looks like I'm going to have to get the shears out and cut back quite a few things in the yard.
Some of us may feel dried up and dead in our season of life, but those whom God loves, He prunes! I have experienced dry spells in my spiritual walk where nothing seems to be fresh or growing and it's a tough time. I am looking forward to spring on so many levels... including what God is going to grow in each of us. I want to be a child of God that produces godly fruit and not just a withering vine. I want God to plant fresh seed into the fertile soil of my heart today and have them take root. Just some thoughts today as I start my morning. I hope that is your desire as well; to spring forth with a fresh vitality and begin to grow in newness. Let's trust God to bring it forth today and water us with His springs of living water!
Have a blessed day in the Lord and a spring in your step!
Has Spring Finally Returned?
