Movies With Political Agendas

So have YOU heard about the new documentary movie by Alexandra Pelosi called "Friends of God"?  Yes, she is the daughter of the new Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi!  I have not seen it as of yet, but if I get a chance I will!  I have done a lot on online investigating and researching concerning the movie and occasionally I'll hear something on TV about it.  This is a politically charged movie targeting "evangelical Christians" and poses their beliefs as dangerous to the democratic fiber of this nation!   The movie's creator specifically targeted the "RED STATES" to make this movie.  Significantly, the examples of Christians from across this nation may or may not represent the mainstream theologies and doctrines of Christianity. She even interviewed the now "infamous for his failures" Ted Haggard.  The production arose following another summer sizzler called "Jesus Camp", which also featured Haggard.    Do they really typify you and me or is this an extreme view?  I think I know the answer after seeing "Jesus Camp"!  Even the title of this new movie seems mocking... "Friends of God".  It reminds me of when the soldiers put the sign over Jesus "King of the Jews" to scorn and ridicule Him.  Does that mean someone could make a movie called "Enemies of God" and get away with it?

The real question is... are we going to have to put up with stuff like this until the 2008 elections?   Can't we just fast forward and get it over with instead of having to deal with this junk? Why is it OK to target and bad mouth Christians, but you'd better not say anything negative about other religious, ethnic, or morally challenged peoples... or you'll be hounded, sued, defamed,  and have their action groups pounding down your door.

Is this a ploy to cause further division between people- mainly against Christians who make a significant contribution to Conservativeness?  It is reported by a number of sources that Christians make up roughly half of the vote.

It is no wonder that the current young generation of voters is sick and tired of politics as usual and are wanting to see drastic changes in our methods, candidates, and views.

As I have said in the past, I think politics are a good thermometer for where a nation stands with the Lord!

So where is this all taking us?   I think we'll continue to see extremes on both the left and, but count on both sides to consider the "religious vote".  I think we're going to hear more and more candidates expressing an interest in "faith", but not necessarily Christianity.  You know the slogan... there are many ways that lead to God....    We're going to have to do our homework, folks, and read the books and not just judge them by their covers (so to speak).

Also, watch for increasing global unity, not only in religious venues, but  also in political,  humanitarian, and financial scopes.

So dear friends, just buckle your seatbelt and get ready for a bumpy ride into 2008.  Pray for discernment in all areas and consider what the Word says in 1 Peter 3:13-17,  "Who is going to harm you if you are eager to do good?  but even if you should suffer for what is right, you are blessed.  Do not fear what they fear; do not be frightened.  But in your hearts, set apart Christ as Lord.  Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have.  But do this with gentleness and respect, keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander.  It is better, if it is God's will, to suffer for good than for doing evil."

Thanks for visiting with me today!  I'll see you tomorrow!
