Expectant Prayers ®

Jennifer Jo Weiss

Quick Update

We have been at the hospital almost non stop since Mom's stroke last Monday morning.  There are many things that could be said and stories we could tell, but you can know this... Mom is at peace.  She is not afraid to die and she is in no pain.    The Lord has been confirming His presence to us in many ways and especially to my Dad.  Oh, how the Lord has compassion and mercy on us.  I am reminded over and over again that "He never said it was easy, but He did say it was worth it."    We also have to keep in mind that this world is not our treasure, but we lay up for ourselves treasures in heaven.

The lastest prognosis:  The swelling in the brain has not decreased.  They put a tube in her head to drain the blood, but the ICP (inter cranial pressure) has improved.  She has pneumonia now from the respirator (she went on the respirator and the feeding tube last Monday).  Her kidneys are starting to malfunction, but are presently stable.  Her heart valve is the major concern of the day.  The doctors think that since her coumadin has had to be stopped that there are probably small clots forming already that are breaking off and heading for the kidneys.  Some could even go to the brain.

We are not people without hope.  We know that no matter what happens, His perfect will is being performed toward our dear precious mother.  Please keep praying.    The journey is long and hard, but we are trusting in the Lord and feeling His presence all around us.  We know the angels have charge over us and Mom and it is evident.  God continues to confirm His presence to us.

I'll update as I can, but the opportunities are brief.  I have to connect in the hospital waiting room.

God bless - and thanks for the thoughts and prayers.
