Stirring Up Those Holiday Feelings

Are you beginning to get in the Christmas mood at your house?  This past week really jarred our holiday spirit.  Our local radio station - Star 102 - began playing Christmas music.  We listened to the radio for hours as we cleaned out the kids bedrooms for the winter.  I felt like mama bear preparing the den for hibernation!  I like things to be clean, organized, and neat before we have to be all cooped up for several months.  I like playing music while we work because I think it makes us work faster and Christmas songs just make your heart happy.   It was nice to hear songs like "What Child Is This" getting air time, which may not be the case for too much longer.   It seems that every other religion is shown proper respect, but when it comes to a relationship with Christ - it's not politically correct.  Christ offends and I find it mind boggling that people celebrate a holiday designated for the birth of our Lord and call it   CHRISTmas  when they don't even believe in Him.  In the news this week - a humanist group started a holiday bus ad campaign in DC that read "Why believe in god?  Just be good for goodness sake!"

Well, I can say that for me and my household, we serve the Lord and are proud to call Him Savior.  Oh, and it's still okay to say, "Merry Christmas" instead of Happy Holidays.  Of course, people don't think about the origin of the word holiday anyhow.... um... Holy Days?????!!!!!!   So, whether or not they think they are being politically correct, we can still say that Christmas IS a holy day.  Maybe that would be more appropriate... to respond to the well wishes of clerks at the store or co-workers by re-emphasizing HOLY days!

The first snowflakes of the season fell on our house this morning (though they were a bit teeny weeny).  It just gets you looking forward to Christmas.    So get out there and do your shopping... clean your den... or whatever you are doing today and do it with a smile on your face - because Christmas is just around the corner!
