Expectant Prayers ®

Jennifer Jo Weiss

This Moment

Our hearts and prayers go out today to the Steven Curtis Chapman family as they lost their little 5 year old daughter, Maria Sue, yesterday afternoon.  Apparently the accident occurred at the family home in Franklin, TN - an older brother ran over her in the family SUV.  You can only imagine what the entire family is going through right now.

If his music has ministered to your life over the years, please use this time to minister to him through your prayers.

Chapman had released an album back in October 2007 which included a release titled "Cinderella", a touching song he wrote for his daughters.  God was dealing with him about living in the moment instead of worrying about yesterdays or planning for tomorrows - we need to cherish the moment.  Cinderella was written on a night he was tucking his daughters into bed and they were wanting to dress as princesses and have stories read to them when he was busy trying to finish his album.    He wrote it as a reminder that we need to take every opportunity we have because those special moments are gone so quickly.

There is no doubt in my mind that God was using that time to minister to Steven and preparing him for the days ahead.  How meaningful his thoughts, book, and song concerning what God was showing him (to be in "This Moment") are today!  Listen to "Cinderella" and hear what God prompted him to write!

You will also find Steven's interview on YouTube talking about the song.

We all need to learn this lesson, because we are only guaranteed
this moment!

"Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes."  James 4:14
