Expectant Prayers ®

Well, Well, Well !

After suffering with horrendous cold-like symptoms for nearly 3 weeks, I finally broke down and scheduled a visit with my doctor last Thursday.    I couldn't stand the coughing and phlegm anymore, plus I was concerned that the baby would start to come down with whatever I was battling.   My husband has also been sick and that's no good to have both parents ailing.   I was glad that I went because the doctor told me that I have a bad case of bronchitis if not pneumonia.  He didn't schedule an x-ray; he went right ahead and put me on a Z-pack.   That's the one that you take for 3 days and then it stays in your system for 10 days.  Waste no time... I like that approach.
I had been running a low grade fever even with non-stop Tylenol and Ibuprofen, too for about a week before I went to the doctor.   I'm the kind of person who is miserable even with a low grade fever.  Every muscle in my body ached and my abdomen, not yet fully recovered from surgery, has been so sore from the non-stop coughing!
I have heard that sometimes when you start antibiotics that things get worse before they get better... yeah, well that's true in my case.  Friday afternoon, it hit me like a truck and I was zonked out with a 103 degree fever- with meds!   Saturday's temp was brought down to a steady 100 with medicine and then Sunday, it stayed between 100 and 99 degrees.  It's the weirdest thing.  Hot.  No, cold.   My body couldn't make up it's mind.  Then I was sweating so bad that I had to change clothes twice last night.
Today however, I must be on the road back to wellness.  No fever as of yet.  A throbbing headache, yes.  I was actually hungry today, too, which has been elusive most days.     Sometimes we forget how nice it is to feel good and we take it for granted until we have reason to be thankful again.   I am looking forward to healthful horizons in the near future.

I'll have to tell you all about what happened on the way to and from the doctor another time; that's a story in itself.
