Expectant Prayers ®

Where, Oh, Where Has That Little Dog Gone?

Have you ever lost something and then drive yourself crazy trying to find it?

Welcome to my present cause for insanity.

I have spent the past two days searching for Shad's favorite little stuffed doggy that looks like a miniature Winston (our family dog).  It's his favorite toy in the whole world and somehow... it came up missing.    Maybe I have a bit of OCD because frankly, it's driving me nuts.  I can't stand when I've misplaced something, especially something that is important.   Now, I'm sure that I could find out where Grandma got it and get a new one, but that's not the point.  Where, oh, where has that little dog gone?  Where, oh, where can it BE??????

With so much going on in our house every day, I honestly can't even remember the last time I saw it or where I may have seen it for that fact.  I don't normally take it out of the house, but it's possible I took it to church or to Grandma's house... oh, who knows!

As in times in the past, I've been praying that I'll find it.  Heaven knows on my own, I'm not having any success.   Have you ever prayed to find something?   Usually when I do, it's not too long afterward that I find whatever it is I was looking for.

People might make fun and say, "Well, God's got more important things to deal with than to help you find a little stuffed dog for your baby!"    I tend to disagree... not that He doesn't have more weighty things on His mind, but rather that He cares about every detail of our lives!  When we can trust Him with the "little" things then we can trust Him with bigger things, too!
If He cares to know enough about us that every hair on our head is counted and that He sees even the tiny sparrow fall, then certainly He knows where that little fur ball of a toy is and can help lead me to the right spot.

I know, I know.  You can't stand the cliff-hanging suspense.  I'll let you know how it turns out!
