Expectant Prayers ®

Window into the Womb

No matter how many ultrasounds I have had, I am still amazed at seeing a little life growing inside me!  Yesterday was no exception.  As I looked at the monitor and saw our little baby kicking and moving I couldn't help but have the tears roll down my cheek.   This ultrasound was very important to make sure of size and dates and to be assured that baby is (as far as we can tell) absolutely healthy.  I had some abnormal blood results (which can often be false anyway), but I felt much better after seeing things and having the technician get a thorough look.    Baby is a good size and they ended up moving up my due date by 10 days, which is exactly what I knew to be true.   So onward we march toward the due date!

Many have asked what we are having.  I didn't really intend on revealing the gender, but when you know it's hard not too...especially when so many are asking.

We found out that we are having... another..... boy!  Yes, my husband was right all along and for those of you keeping track, that makes 5 boys and 1 girl!  Oddly enough, 3/5 of our kids wanted another boy, but Titus and Celeste thought another girl would be nice.  So there you have it.  Guess my hunch about craving mustard, meat, and spicy foods was accurate again.
BTW- Celeste was not upset about another boy.  She thought a girl would be nice, but she loves her little brothers and is just excited about having another baby.  She and I will continue to be pals (we girls have to stick together in our house full of boys).  Maybe someday, if the Lord tarries, I will be blessed enough to enjoy some granddaughters!!!!

It's hard to believe I am over half way done because baby will more than likely be delivered before the expected due date via C-Section.  Some have asked me how the doctors came to that conclusion.  First of all, the history of my deliveries goes: vaginal, C-Section, V-BAC, V-BAC, C-Section.  After 2 C's they gave me no option for another vaginal.  Some doctors in this day and time won't even allow their patients to try V-BAC after only having one cesarean.  It just depends on the doctor.  There are also "policies" enforced by OB/GYN's due to rising insurance costs.  They want to minimize danger to the mother as well as possible liability with their practice if something would go wrong.
Anyway, for me it is probably the best option because of the size of my babies at delivery and given that with the 2 C's previous, I had toxemia.  I am not expecting toxemia this time, which would make my birthing experience more tolerable.   The birth will be here before you know it!

Bless you today, friend, and may God's presence, peace, joy, and power be upon you!
