Getting Closer and Closer

GETTING CLOSER TO DELIVERY:

For those of you checking my blog every day... let me just say that in the next few days until I deliver, I may not be on every day!   Yesterday was just so busy,  I didn't even get a chance to get to my computer.  There seems to be so much to get done until delivery and upcoming events that I'm trying to juggle too many things at once!

I have felt much better since having the plug of wax removed from my ear on Monday.  Monday night, however, I thought I was on the way to delivering.  The contractions were coming hard and strong and at 1 am, I was up walking the house.  Eventually  I was able to lie down and fall asleep.  I was more than exhausted from being up most of the night on Sunday with an ear ache.  Anyway, yesterday was a good day as far as how I was feeling, but like I said, there seems to be so much going on.  Every moment of my day seems priceless and valuable.  I have to spend wisely!

FINAL PREPARATIONS FOR BABY:

Part of what is keeping me so busy is making sure I have everything ready for baby.  A lot of the preparations that I'm currently making are for after baby arrives.  I've been busy arranging for meals, getting a jump on September's bills, making plans for school to keep us on track, etc.
We went up to the attic and brought down the bassinet and several other baby related items that I felt I would need the first few months.   I think everything is in place now.  Even the kids got their T-Shirts finished with Grandma Weiss.   I guess it's a real popular thing now for siblings to get a shirt for baby's arrival.  I've seen them recently at Babies R Us and in specialty catalogs.  It wasn't heard of too much nine years ago when Grandma made shirts for Titus and Celeste when Moses was born.  She used the same pattern for the little boys as she used back then, but the older 3 kids decided to not use the patten and ended up making their own designs.

Zeke's white shirt in the bottom right hand corner looks the most like Grandma's original pattern that Celeste and Titus wore 9 years ago.

And speaking of births, today just happens to be Titus' birthday!

 HAPPY BIRTHDAY, TITUS!

Now if I can just make it past today (Titus doesn't want the baby to come on his birthday) and Sunday, Celeste's Honor Crowning, then we'll be in the clear!     Unfortunately, sometimes we don't have any control over the matter because babies come whenever they want- even if you have a scheduled C-Section!

PETE CONTINUES TO HEAL:

To update you on Peter, his wound continues to heal and improve with each passing day.  It's been 3 weeks now and as of yesterday, he was able to go without a bandage (or dressing) over the wound.  It diminished seeping and oozing over the past several days.   He was finding the dressings more trouble than they were worth, so he decided to stop.  Yesterday evening, he showed a friend of ours his wound and I noticed that from a distance it looks as if he has a second belly button.     I wonder if that's what it will look like from now on!!!???

A DEFINITE STIRRING IN THE SPIRIT:

Finally today, have you felt, as I have, that there is a stirring going on in the spirit?  Several weeks ago, I felt like we were in for turmoil  (the church and country in general) and that seems to be the case.  From natural disasters to personal problems, I see it in my spirit like we are the soda bottle being shaken and the lid is about to blow!     Now is the time to cling to the Lord and His Word.  We don't need to fear, for the Lord is with us wherever we go and in whatever we do.  But again, the idea of getting a mindset of "preparedness" is on my heart.   I am aware that there are things in life you simply cannot prepare for, but I am talking about being ready... ready in your spiritual life for whatever you might face in the days ahead.   It's much easier to face things when you're already close to God and listening to His voice for direction, wisdom, and guidance rather than waiting to get serious about your walk with Him when "disaster" strikes.   Take the  heeding of the Spirit right now; prepare and watch!

I also had several calls yesterday from friends who are going through crisis right now.   The devil never seems to stop, does he!  I get so sick of the enemy's attacks.   It is all out spiritual warfare for many.  No matter which direction they turn, there is something there that they have to battle.
All we can do is keep upholding each other in prayer  and remember that when the enemy comes in like a flood, the Word tells us that the LORD will raise up a standard against it!  We will never be consumed or defeated as long as we can allow God to fight for us, be our buckler and defender, and our Jehovah Nissi - the banner raised to declare HE will bring the victory.

Have a wonderful day and we'll talk again soon!
