Pete was able to get some much needed rest yesterday and I have been good at ordering him to stay in bed. This morning, police friends Brett and Lance brought Pete's motorcycle to our house as well as his gear belt, boots, clothing, bullet proof vest, etc. The dagger in question has been held for internal review at the station. Also, we are still awaiting the photographs from the station that we will share with you as soon as we receive them.
Our prayer now is that Pete will continue to heal and receive a good report from the doctor next week. This morning, he had quite a time when he was trying to cough. That didn't feel very good as you can imagine! Later this morning, he'll also have his first shower since all of this happened.
He is walking very slowly and tries not to bend over too much because it irritates the wound. I have been busy putting clean bandages on the wound as it continues to seep and bleed. It's still open because they don't suture those kinds of wounds (something I didn't know before this incident). It heals from the inside out. It's not so pleasant to look at, but I bandage him up anyway out of love.
Thank you all so much for praying and your continued e-mails, comments, and prayers. Love you all!
